Virginia Military Institute Merit Scholarship Program offers full and partial scholarships for up to eight semesters to cover tuition and fees.  Recipients are selected on the basis of academics and intelligential achievement and promise, demonstrated leadership, personal integrity, and qualities of selfless service to their community.  For more information see the Guidance office.

Blackwood Music Scholarship.  $2500, $3000, $2500, and $2000 scholarships are available.  A personal interview and audition is required.  Additionally, students must submit a 250 essay and a copy of federal tax returns.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship Program.  This scholarship is open to Juniors with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA for the 9th & 10th grades who demonstrate leadership, are actively contributing to their communities and have experienced and overcome a significant obstacle(s) in their lives are eligible.  Up to 10 $25,000 national scholarships and up to 300 $2,500 will be awarded. 2007 Pennsylvania American Legion 72nd Annual Essay Contest:  First place winner will be awarded a $3,500 scholarship, second place will be awarded $3,000 scholarship, and third place will receive $2,500 scholarship.  For more information see Ms. Antenucci in guidance.

The Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers is offering up to four $1,000 scholarships for children of bank employees working a minimum of 1,000 hours or more a year.  For more information see the Guidance office.

B. Kenneth Simon Free Enterprise Scholarship through Robert Morris University:  The Scholarship is intended to assist prospective students to Robert Morris University who demonstrate an understanding of the values of free enterprise.  The winner will be awarded a scholarship which is renewable for four years and has a value of $6,000 per year or a total of $24,000 over four years.  For more information go to www.rmu.edu.

Westmoreland Columbus 550 Merit Scholarship.  This scholarship is for four years at an accredited college or university at a rate of $2000.00 per year.  Applicants must have at least one parent of Italian descent.  Further requirements are listed in the Guidance Office.

The Frank J. and Cecilla Walker Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation for residents of the Alle-Kiski Valley planning to attend college, technical school, or trade school.  This student must maintain a ‘B’ average, have financial need, along with completion of the application, and a one page essay.  See your counselor for details.

The Pittsburgh Italian Scholarship Fund  is a $3000 a year scholarship for 4 years and 9 local colleges (including Duquesne, Carnegie Mellon and St. Vincent's) will match the funds.  Students demonstrate academic excellence, financial need and must be of Italian heritage.

The Michael A. Lamendola Memorial Scholarship is specifically for a Kiski Area senior who intends to study music at an accredited college or university.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office

The Caldwell Inspirational Scholarship for the Fire Chiefs Association of Westmoreland County will be awarding two $250 scholarships.  One male and one female Westmoreland firefighter or relative of a Westmoreland Firefighter may apply.  For more information see your guidance counselor.

The Bell-Avon Alumni Association.  Applicants for this scholarship must be a current resident of Bell Twp and have resided in the Township for the past 8 years, a graduate of Bell Twp. Elementary School with a minimum of 2 years of schooling at Bell and have attended all years at the Kiski Area Intermediate and High School.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

The Peter Samios Scholarship.  This scholarship is for all KA seniors who intend on furthering their education.  To be eligible you must have a minimum QPA of a 3.0.  Students planning on entering any major may apply but primary consideration may be given to students entering Art education or related fields.  See Mr. Duppstadt in the Guidance Office for additional information.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship.  This scholarship is based on financial need and scholastic ability and will be awarded to a High School student residing in the A-K Valley.  Applicants must submit an original essay, art, poem, sculpture regarding Dr. King.  For more information, plese stop in the Guidance Office.

The John and Mary Boale Scholarship.  Nine $1000. scholarships will be awearded to students who are from Vandergrift who are planning on attending an accredited college or university. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
