At Kiski Area, it signifies something even greater—the embodiment of character, achievement, and a commitment to making a difference.

 

Celebrating Excellence in Our Alumni

The Kiski Area community has always instilled strength, character, and a sense of purpose in its students. These qualities have propelled our graduates to achieve remarkable success and make meaningful contributions to the world around them. In 2023, the Kiski Area School District Board of Directors established the Distinguished Alumni Award to honor these exceptional individuals.

 

This prestigious recognition isn’t just about celebrating past accomplishments—it’s about inspiring future generations. Each Distinguished Alumni honoree will have the incredible opportunity to address our graduating class, sharing wisdom, experiences, and encouragement with Cavaliers as they embark on the next chapter of their journey.

 

What Makes an Alum "Distinguished"?

Excellence takes many forms. Do you know a Kiski Area graduate who stands out for their achievements, values, or service? Perhaps they’ve excelled in their chosen profession, served with distinction in the military or public service, or given back to the community with purpose and joy. Whatever their path, we want to hear their story—and we need your help to identify these extraordinary individuals.

 

How to Nominate a Distinguished Alum

Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award are open year-round. Here’s how it works:

• Nomination Review: Each May 1, all nominations submitted by that date will be reviewed by our committee.
• Selection & Recognition: A Distinguished Alumni honoree will be selected and invited to deliver a message to the graduating class.
• Honoring Their Legacy: The honoree’s photo and biography will be displayed on a plaque in the Kiski Area boardroom as a lasting tribute to their achievements.

Important Details:

• Ongoing Consideration: Nominations remain on file for five years, so there’s no need to resubmit annually.
• Annual Selection: Each year, a new honoree will be chosen from the pool of nominations collected to date.
