Comprehensive Plan
February 10, 2025 (Updated 4/16/25)
Dear Kiski Area Families and Community Members,
This school year, a large steering committee made up of administrators, staff, parents, and community members engaged in the strategic planning process to develop a new district-level Comprehensive Plan. This process is required every three years by the PA Department of Education. The new proposed district-level Comprehensive Plan holds the goals, action steps, and assessment measures that will guide the Kiski Area School District through the next three school years, commencing in August of 2025 and ending in June of 2028.
The Comprehensive Plan review process also includes a review of the following additional state-required reports (you can access the documents by clicking on each item):
Academic Standards and Assessment Requirements (Chapter 4)
Gifted Education Plan (Chapter 16)
Student Services Assurances (Chapter 12)
Educator Induction Plan (Chapter 49)
Professional Development Plan (Act 48)
As per the process, the PA Department of Education requires the district level Comprehensive Plan and the related state required reports to be available for public review and comment for 28 days; therefore, beginning on Monday, February 10th, paper copies of the proposed plan were made available in the main office of each or our schools across the district as well as digitally on our Kiski Area website.
A final version of the District Comprehensive Plan was submitted to the Kiski Area School District Board of Directors at the Board Meeting on Monday, March 17th, 2025 and approved at that time. The Comprehensive Plan was then submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education on March 24, 2025.
We are currently awaiting formal approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
