Dr. Emily Mather joined the Kiski Area School District in July 2022 and currently serves as the Director of Curriculum K–6 and Federal Programs. In this role, she supports curriculum, instruction, professional learning, and federal programming across the district. She is also the Kindergarten Transition Liaison for the district.

Prior to joining Kiski Area, Dr. Mather served as the K–2 Academic Principal in the Chartiers Valley School District, where she also supported K–12 curriculum as a district liaison for English Language Arts and Social Studies.

Dr. Mather began her administrative and instructional leadership experience in the Freedom Area School District, joining the district in 2013 as a K–6 Instructional Coach. She later served as Dean of Students, supporting academic and behavioral interventions for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, before being appointed K–4 Elementary Principal in 2018.

Dr. Mather earned her doctoral degree from PennWest University and holds two master’s degrees in Elementary Education and Reading from West Virginia University. She earned her Principal Certification from Westminster College and holds additional certifications in K–12 Technology and N–3 Early Childhood Education.

She has also presented at the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (PASCD), focusing on using student motivation, stamina, and authentic assessment to inform and strengthen instructional practices.
